A baby anteater was born August 22, 2018
The giant anteater saga continues: on 16 June Isabela, the female animal, gave life to a healthy pup. Most of the time the baby keeps hanging from the back of the mother and in this way gets carried everywhere. When Isabela sleeps and covers herself up with her fluffy tail, hardly anything can be seen of the pup, but when she walks around in the enclosure, the "jockey" baby can be observed very well. Of the two adult animals Isabela, the female, arrived from Dortmund Zoo in Germany back in 2014, and William, the male, in the same year from Edinburgh Zoo in Scotland. The young couple already had a pup in 2016; it has already grown up and recently left for Liberec in the Czech Republic.
