As every year, our “Be There!” public programmes await visitors from spring to autumn at the Budapest Zoo.
Magical Hungary is a prestigious, year-long nature photography competition, and an exhibition of its award-winning images at Magic Mountain presents the rich wildlife and natural beauty of Hungary’s national parks.
During the event, visitors can enjoy demonstration feedings, scavenger hunt-style games, educational and craft activities, all designed with age-appropriate tasks and surprises.
The Budapest Zoo’s 160-year history is presented through rare, archival posters, brought to life with modern technology to showcase our visual heritage.
With our “Together is Beautiful” promotion, from February 13–15, two people can visit the Zoo for the price of one ticket. On February 14, special programs are also available.

This year marks the 33rd Day for Children with Disabilities, an event that offers an unforgettable experience for children with disabilities and their families.
The images represent the best of Hungarian nature photography, as the organizers compiled the exhibition material from the best images of the most prestigious Hungarian nature photography competition. The exhibition conjures up the natural beauties and wildlife of our country’s 10 national parks for the public via 222 photos.
Dinosaur Experience at the Biodome from 14th of February to 30th of March, for more than six weeks, except on 27 February, when the exhibition will be closed for one day.
Following the huge success of the event in March, the unique Lightdome 2 exhibition will once again fill the subterranean spaces of the Budapest Zoo’s Biodome with stunning works by several Hungarian and international artists between 6 November and 8 December 2024.

The exhibition features the best documentary and press photos of the past year from all over the world. Within the framework of the 67th World Press Photo Contest, the presented and award-winning images were selected by a 31-member international expert jury from 61,062 entries by 3,581 photographers from 130 countries.
For more than a decade, it has been a tradition for Hungary’s zoos, wildlife parks, and animal exhibition sites to offer special evening programs for the public at the end of August, on the last Friday night of summer. This is Zoo at Night.
Our prestigious Zoo will celebrate its 158th birthday in exactly four weeks, on Friday, August 9th. Of course, we are preparing programs for this special occasion.
