Modern zoos today are not only entertaining attractions, but also critically important centres for learning about and protecting wildlife, as well as key institutions for environmental education.
Useful Information
Available times (on school days): 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, and 14:00.
We are unable to offer educational sessions on weekends, during school holidays, and during zoo festivals. During these periods, interesting and varied zoo activities can be accessed through downloadable programs on our website.
Group Size: We recommend that group sizes not exceed 30 people, with 20 participants being ideal for our sessions. Groups exceeding 30 people will be split into two, and each will count as a separate session.
Arrival: Please arrive at the ticket office at least 15 minutes before the start of the session. The group leader will meet you 5 minutes before the scheduled time at the prearranged location. We cannot start the session earlier, even if the group arrives before the agreed time. We kindly ask for your patience.
Late Arrival: If the group is delayed, please notify us as soon as possible by calling the information pavilion at +36-1 273-4900 or +36-1 273-4901. We can wait a maximum of 15 minutes beyond the scheduled start time. Unfortunately, if the delay exceeds this, we will not be able to offer the session, and a new appointment will need to be scheduled.
In the event of unfavourable weather, outdoor sessions will be moved indoors. However, short outdoor walks are unavoidable, so we recommend dressing appropriately for the weather.
Cancellation: Please notify us of any cancellations no later than 4 p.m. on the weekday prior to the visit by emailing zooped@zoobudapest.com.
Important!
When booking an educational session, the fee must be paid upon arrival at the ticket office. Please present the educational ticket and receipt at the Main Gate for entry. The session cannot begin without this, and there is no possibility for retrospective ticket purchases.
It is helpful to discuss the behavior rules with the children before the visit, so they know what to pay attention to and what rules apply to them at the Zoo.
How to Sign Up for Zoo Pedagogy Sessions?
For school classes and kindergarten groups visiting for educational purposes, the Zoo’s educators and specialists offer lessons and sessions. Advance booking is required at least two weeks before the desired date, and it’s advisable to book even earlier during peak school trip seasons.
Our colleagues will contact you within three working days to finalize the booking. For further information on booking, please contact zooped@zoobudapest.com.
Registration is only valid with our email confirmation. The confirmation will include all the group and visit details, along with the fee and necessary actions. Only the prices and information listed on the website and confirmed by email are valid. We cannot accept references to verbal information.
