How to get here
Due to its central location you can get to Budapest Zoo easily in several ways.
By car
All three entrances to the Zoo, including the main and temporary gates, are located along Állatkerti körút (Zoo Boulevard). Állatkerti körút connects directly to Hősök tere (Heroes’ Square), Hermina Street, and Kós Károly Promenade, and via Heroes’ Square and Gundel Károly Street, it also links to Dózsa György Street, as well as to Hungária Boulevard via Kacsóh Pongrác Street. Through traffic is prohibited on Állatkerti körút during the day, and entry is permitted only for destination traffic.
Parking
Visitors arriving by car or motorcycle can choose from several parking options. They can use the Zoo’s Parkoló ZOOna or use the public parking spaces on Állatkerti körút or nearby streets.
Parkoló ZOOna: This is the Zoo’s parking area, located at the Hermina Street end of Állatkerti körút (Állatkerti krt. 16).

The above parking fees are per vehicle. Of the Zoo’s entrances next to the historic carousel is closest to Parkoló ZOOna. There is no ticket office at this gate, only a ticket machine.
A receipt is issued when purchasing from the parking machine, in accordance with regulations. If you need an invoice, please request it by email at least 8 days before parking at jegy@zoobudapest.com. Please note that after a purchase is made from the machine, an invoice cannot be issued later, as per current regulations. If the buyer does not request an invoice at the time the receipt is issued, in this case prior to parking via email, the Zoo legally fulfils its invoicing obligation with a receipt. Afterward, the Zoo is not required to issue an invoice alongside a receipt. Only one type of document (either a receipt or an invoice) can be issued per transaction.
We kindly ask car owners to be aware that during peak times or large events, delays may occur when entering or exiting Parkoló ZOOna, and it may take 30-40 minutes due to traffic congestion. Please be patient and considerate, as everyone has the same goal of arriving and parking safely and in good spirits, even during major events.
Public Parking: The public parking spaces around the Zoo and in the Városliget (City Park) area have been part of a paid parking zone since 1 September 2017, as decided by the Zugló Municipality and the Budapest City Government.
